Words & Paintings Poem Print (Signed), 2026 - Open Edition

$50.00

Words & Paintings brings together the titles of the eight works in Andrew Agutos's solo exhibition as a single poem, arranged in the sequence in which the paintings appear throughout the gallery. Written as individual stanzas across the exhibition, the titles form a continuous text when read together, creating a parallel work within the paintings.

The poem was performed by Andrew Agutos at the Artist Reception in London and is reproduced here in red. The print is signed and dated by the artist.

Rage does not serve the patient professional
Anchored by the memory of that lasting taste on the teeth
Restraint renders more efficiently here

Not a single sliver of skin
Patch of pores nor field of follicles
Left cold under this quilt of kisses
And I usually don’t make blanket statements

The real monument is your mind
—the unclimbable mountain
and every day is a mountain to climb
Nature’s symphonies, syntheses
Intricacies, epiphanies
Profound consistency
Unpredictably contradictory

Can’t we just enjoy the scenery?
Restless foreshadows reckless
Head-on collision, dead-on precision
Un délit de fuite
I rest willingly a wreck
