Can’t we just enjoy the scenery? / Restless foreshadows reckless / Head-on collision, dead-on precision / Un délit de fuite / I rest willingly a wreck, 2026

Words & Paintings brings together the titles of the eight works in Andrew Agutos's solo exhibition as a single poem, arranged in the sequence in which the paintings appear throughout the gallery. Written as individual stanzas across the exhibition, the titles form a continuous text when read together, creating a parallel work within the paintings.

The poem was performed by Andrew Agutos at the Artist Reception in London.

Can’t we just enjoy the scenery?
Restless foreshadows reckless
Head-on collision, dead-on precision
Un délit de fuite
I rest willingly a wreck
