The Simpsons characters are icons that Andrew Agutos has drawn hundreds of times. Here, Agutos applies a fashion-inspired approach to the Matt Groening character, with a Jeremy Scott Fall 2012 Bart Sweater and birds of paradise ornamentation referencing Riccardo Tisci-era Givenchy and album artwork for Watch the Throne. Lisa's portrait is part of a five-canvas series of all members of the Simpsons family.
The series was exhibited in solo exhibition Dysfunctional (2013) at Phantom Galleries, a storefront-exhibition space in San Jose, CA. Later in 2014, it was displayed at BAIT Melrose in Los Angeles, CA.
