Introducing the Mentality series by Andrew Agutos. A series of 24 studies honoring the legacy of Kobe Bryant from various moments that defined his career.
Based off of a 1996 Rookie photoshoot by Scott Cunningham, Kobe is depicted here with rookie painting language by the artist. Andrew Agutos returns to painting organic shapes and colors—a nod to camouflage print, hard-edge abstraction and Superflat—as he did when he began studying Painting/Drawing at California College of the Arts in 2009.
