For their third collaboration print, mebae and Takashi Murakami team up with Cherry Fukuoka to release 'smile_03, Southern Island Girl w MF (Murakami Flowers)'. The colors are overall beautiful, with silkscreened black outlines that have a glossy, slight relief to them. Iconic Murakami flower artwork serves as the backdrop for mebae's girl with brown skin, white / pink hair and yellow headphones.
Mebae (Hiroshima Yasuke b. 1979) is a Japanese artist specializing in character design, illustration and screenwriting developing anime, manga and figurines. Takashi Murakami (b. 1962) is a Japanese contemporary artist, continuing to blur the line of commercial and fine art—pushing ideas in the Superflat genre, merchandise, digital art and fashion.
