This painting documents a meal shared with family at an Afro-Caribbean restaurant in Paris. More than just fish on a plate, it evokes the texture of home, belonging, and Afro-Caribbean culture served in casual, everyday ways. A piece as much about family as it is about food.
The image was later sampled in a large-scale mural painted by JOMAD & ANDREW in Macouria, French Guiana (2024).
